Product Overview

To capture and communicate best practices and key lessons learned takeaways for contract risk and financial risk management, for industry stakeholders including Builders, Owners, Consultants, Lenders, Facility Managers and Supply Chain Procurement representatives from contract pre-award,  throughout the execution and close out of the project work.

To develop a commercial culture to effectively manage contract administration monetary risk consistent with the contract requirements including Prompt Payment and Adjudication provisions.

To raise awareness in experienced Project Management and Site Supervision staff about the risks of construction claims to cost, quality and schedule, and to demonstrate contract administration techniques that help avoid claims or mitigate the risks in successfully pursuing those claims.

At the end of the course, the Project Manager & Executive Team will have a better understanding of how claims arise and how to manage, mitigate and/or avoid them with proper Contract Administration and Execution. In the event of a claim, the Project Manager and organization will also be in a better position to support or defend its position.

  • Scheduling & Progress Management
  • Change Order & Claim Management

Industry Stakeholders including: Builders, Owners, Consultants, Lenders, Facility Managers and Supply Chain Procurement representatives.

Course Format

  • Live, Online, Instructor-led training, with a maximum class size of 20 students.
  • This course is facilitated by the instructor on the Zoom platform.
  • Attendance and participation in all three workshop sessions is mandatory for workshop completion.
  • Please note that If a student misses a class session, we are unable to transfer registration or provide a partial refund of the registration fees.

Course Requirements (Technology & Participation)

Please note the following requirements to ensure your successful learning experience!

  1. This workshop will involve 100% on-screen interaction with the instructor and classmates, reading/viewing on-screen content like slides or videos, and interacting via typing with questions or responses.
    • Computer/Laptop mandatory: Attendees are not permitted to attend via a tablet or cell phone
    • Webcams are mandatory and are expected to be turned on during all course sessions.
  2. Every person able to see, hear, and observe the virtual course sessions must be a paid participant. Non-compliance of this requirement will result in removal from the course. Refunds will not be issued to students who are removed from the course for non-compliance.
    • Virtual backgrounds are not permitted
    • Group attendance via one paid registration is not permitted
  3. Students are expected to be fully engaged in the class
    • Clear your work schedule just as you would for attendance in an in-class program

Refunds or Transfers: 

  • Five (5) or more business days before the course start date: Full refund of registration fees or can be transfers to a different course date.
  • Less than five (5) business days before the course start date and course no-shows: No refunds or transfers to future course dates.

Other Policies: 

  • Substitution of another member of your company/team is permitted up to the course start date for no additional fee.
  • Unless otherwise stated, every person able to see, hear, and observe the virtual course sessions must be a paid participant.   • If the NRCA has to postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment, NRCA will refund the registration fee or, if possible, the attendee may choose to move to an identical session in the future.
